On September 21st, two wetland scientists from GHD, an engineering & environmental consulting firm based in Harrisburg, will educate students at Susquenita School District in rural Perry County about wetlands. The scientists will cover the benefits of wetlands, how & why a wetland delineation is conducted, as well as explore career paths for field science positions. After an introductory presentation by the scientists, students will do a walk through of the wetlands located on their school property. In order to show the students why the land is classified as a wetland, the scientists will have them dig down into the soil to look at its profile & observe the various plant life.
