Planting Charlotte Giving Garden

May 30, 2019

With the leadership of first and sixth grade, we will be planting our 2019 Giving Garden on our Green Apple Day of Service. While sixth graders collect food scraps from the cafeteria and manage the on-site compost shed to create compost (a year-round project), our first graders will be starting seeds in their classroom in preparation for planting day. On our Day of Service, students, parents and community members will be invited to take part in spring-care, adding compost, mulch and transplanting the seedlings into the garden. Produce from the garden is for visitors to the garden wanting to taste something new and for the town food shelf.
