Landscaping is a natural extension of your home. A beautiful garden can create an escape where you can enjoy nature, relax and entertain with friends.
Landscape Design
Green Apple Landscaping offers a premium design service. Starting with the overall composition of the garden down to the precise detailing of structures, placement of plants and material selections, design details are important to us. The unique characteristics of your property and your personal style are always reflected in our designs. Our landscape designer has 14 years of landscape design experience (BFA/BLA).
Design Consultation
This first meeting is a consultation with the Landscape Designer, typically one hour long at the client's home. During this meeting the Landscape Designer will assess the landscaping you require. We can provide a rough estimate for design and build after this initial consultation meeting.
Design Meeting
What you will need for this design meeting:
- Write down any specific ideas you have as to design, functional requirements, and materials that you like. If you have any pictures from magazines or garden books, this helps, although we will bring along a comprehensive picture portfolio of ideas and manufacturers brochures for you to browse.
- An up-to-date survey of your property.
- If there are any underground sprinklers or underground wiring, a sketch of their location needs to be provided.
- A deposit cheque for 50% of the design fee.
Design Drawings
The Landscape Design Concept is a plan view drawing, drawn to scale, and in colour to help you visualize the garden features. Any additional drawings, if necessary or requested by you, will be priced a la carte, and are additional to our standard design fee.
These additional drawings might include:
- permit drawings
- structural engineering drawings
- custom details (i.e. for a lattice screen, fence or arbor )
- detailed planting plans (Typically we interview you as to the style of planting that you like, including colour, texture, height, favorite plants, plants you dislike, etc. The planting scheme is conceptualized and at the nursery we select the best quality specimens appropriate for your garden.)
