More impact of project

We established the WHS Ecology of Food garden last year, however due to poor soils we needed to install raised beds in order to make our garden productive. This year our project installed 20 raised beds! The beds were built by our home construction class at the high school and then installed, filled and planted by Ecology of Food students. Volunteers from the school, the Ecology of Food class and the community will maintain the gardens over the summer. Produce collected over the summer will be donated to the local food shelf (ICOP). Produce in the fall will be used by the Ecology of food class to learn about food systems, human nutrition and community and global sustainability.
