Carson Middle School Wetlands Project

September 01, 2017

After a renovation at Carson Middle School we were left with an area on campus where drainage waters were captured. Teachers have looked at this area, if developed somewhat, could become an area for outdoor education, including a study of noxious weeds, pollination, plant and animal adaptations, or water chemistry. These studies would support our adoption of the Next Generation Science Standards, and increase student awareness in the STEM fields associated with ecology.

Intended impact of project

Increased environmental & sustainability literacy
